In France, women's riding costumes were called "Amazons". Velvet jacket with a short peplum, v-neckline embellished with an agramante stripe and tulle insert. The sleeves are made of gauze, tulle and velvet ribbon. The skirt is cut in oblique tulle, decorated with rows of velvet ribbon of different widths. The bottom rows are wider than the top rows. The bottom of the skirt is embroidered with prints of the finest lace. The high top hat is decorated with bird of paradise feathers.
